HIS PLACE ART CAFé & COMMUNITY CENTRe
Our café is situated in the ground floor of the building, accessible from Robertson Street only. Ramp access available for scooters and wheelchairs. Well behaved dogs are welcome to. There are a range of seating areas, hard seats, padded seats with arms and two areas with sofas and arm chairs.
Our café doubles up as a Community Centre and event area also, we have a sensory/quiet room with activity hall for group activities inclduing art, social groups, exercise groups, childrens play and more. Cupboards full of games and craft materials for you to enjoy. We have a community kitchen available for event hire and for use for social cooking groups.
If you are looking for a place to start your own social group, you would be welcome to enquire for use of His Place, we are home to the 1066 Crafters (Mental Health Peer Support Art and Craft Group twice a week) and we have a knitting group using the space as well. We try are best to offer a range of free activities for all age groups but rely totaly on volunteers - so if you are looking for a new interest please get intouch and discuss your ideas.
Café/Community Centre is open during the hours of 10:00 - 15:00 (Due to reduced custom during the pamdemic we are closing at 1.30pm. If we get busier we will bring more staff in. Please support us as your custom keeps the café open)

Hire the space for your event or regular group. (Charity groups or community groups hire costs vary compaired to organisations with income. )

His Place will try to accommodate and at times will alter our regualr activities if we feel it is managable.

Wednesday evening bible study - 19:00 - 20:00
1st Thursday of month - Silver Surfer Entertains at evening café 18:00 - 20:30 (On hold due to covid)
3rd Friday of the month - 19:00 - 21:00 - Games night, board games, quizes etc. (On hold due to covid)
Evening cross stitch and sewing classes coming soon. (September)
Hastings Healing Rooms:
1st Saturday of month - Healing Rooms -13:30 - 14:30 in the café, open to all who wish to receive prayer - run by Hastings Healing Rooms. If you require prayer or pastoral support you are welcome to call or email or message us through face book, we will not judge, we will not turn you away. We will provide help. It is not always possible to meet up instantly and therefore sometimes the prayer support will occur over the phone. If you require practical supprot we will signpost and help find the appropriate organisation. Please note we do not give money to individuals. We run a voucher scheme in the café where vouchers can be brought and if a homeless person comes requesting a meal or a drink we can support them that way.
